Your masterpiece got roasted, man

Australia's got loads of cool stuff: Ayer's Rock, kangaroos, steak and eggs for breakfast, and ... latte art competitions.

This photo, courtesy tonx at Flickr, may make you consider the transitory nature of art, nature, coffee ... According to an article at coffeegeek.com, "pouring latte art requires that you do two things at the same time. Pour the milk at a consistent and even rate AND shake the pitcher side to side with the even tempo of a metronome."

The results are beautiful -- creamy-mocha designs framed by the lid of a hot cup of coffee.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I might try to make some art out of the chocolate milk I love to imbibe in.

I learned about latte art this morning because of this article about latte art from The Herald Sun.

The other day I sent you a message in response to your comments on my poem "Beginner's Lessons". I now have an E-mail address: malcolmalexander11@gmail.com. I have quite a few published poems (Southern Rview, New England Review, Colorado Review, etc.) that I would be happy to share with you. My personal history may also be of interest, if you have looked at my contributor's notes in Rattle or elsewhere.
Anyway, please E-mail me when you can.

I did not appreciate the way that you humiliated me in front of everyone in the Poetry group. I thik you could have been more discreet. That being said, could you please tell me what is so awful about my poems? Lots of people in various poetry groups thought that they were good. I am not saying you are wrong. As a matter of fact, you are probably right. These are my first two poems. I am looking for all of the feedback on them that I can get. So once again, I ask, "What makes my poetry bad?"

I did not appreciate the way that you humiliated me and my poetry in front of everyone. I feel that things could have been handled a little more discreetly. Now I would appreciate it if you would tell me what is wrong with my poems, please. These were my first two poems, and I am looking for all of the CONSTRUCTIVE criticism I can get.

Thank you,

Cat

Malcolm,

I did not appreciate the way that you humiliated me and my poetry in front of everyone. I think things could have been handled more discreetly. Now I would like to know what is wrong with my poetry. A lot of people in different poetry groups liked them both. I would really appreciate it if you could help me write better poetry. These are my first two poems, and I would like all of the CONSTRUCTIVE criticism I can get. Please help me to write better poetry.

Thank you,

Cat from Poetry! group

I am so sorry I posted my letter so many times. I didn't think that I was getting in, because it kept giving me new things to decipher. The letters disappeared once and a while, but I thought there was a limit as to how many times I could decipher before it went away. I guess I got it right four times, huh? I am very sorry, though.
