Why does a muse mutter here, eh? Why not... the photojournalist, or the poet, since I am, afterall, both...? Because no one is just one or two things. What are you?
I'm not talking about Rilke's Letters to a Young Poet (though, man... great book!). I'm talking about you-- yeah, you!-- writing a poem that you approach as a letter. Verse attending a masquerade, if you will.

As a teenager, I decided I needed to write as many poems as Emily Dickinson before my life was over. I wrote at least one a day for awhile; I write an uncountable number now, because everything, almost everything, holds in it a poem now. Before I turned 20, I had over 1500 poems...
